Title<\/strong>: Cyber security issues in Port and Maritime Environment<\/span><\/p>

Abstract<\/strong>: With the growing digitization of port operations, cybersecurity risks are becoming a serious concern for the maritime industry. In this presentation, we will examine key cybersecurity issues in ports, supported by real-world case studies and survey results. We will also discuss practical strategies to improve cybersecurity in port operations. <\/span>In the second part, I will introduce the Port Cybersecurity Guideline, which I developed for Korea\u2019s Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries. This section will cover how to use the guideline effectively and provide a checklist for enhancing cybersecurity in port environments. Attendees will gain valuable tools and insights to better protect their ports from cyber threats.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Title<\/strong>: Evolution of e-Certificates system and Technology<\/span><\/p>

Abstract<\/strong>:<\/span>As digital transformation began and databases were established, IT research community has shown significant interest in issuing and verifying certificates using digital technologies. Thereefore, when the blockchain structure was introduced in 2008 under the name Bitcoin, many researchers argued that blockchain technology could enhance public service efficiency by reducing response times, increasing transparency, confidentiality, and integrity, while also facilitating immutability and establishing trust among participants. However, despite numerous proposals and prototypes related to blockchain technology for certificate issuance, practical applications have remained limited.<\/span><\/p>

In this presentation, we will describe the evolution of certificate issuance technology in South Korea and introduce the certificate issuance and verification technologies used in the drone flight permit system established in 2023. Even if the issuance of certificates using blockchain becomes mainstream, there is still a need for systems to be developed in a hybrid format with paper certificates for the time being.
